Ivy Sense is a concept product and system for the detection of contact with urushiol containing plant life.

Urushiol is the oil contained in poison ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac. The oil can cause moderate to severe allergic reactions for about 85% of people. After contact with skin, it only takes between 2-4 hours for the oil to set, and for the allergic reaction to be irreversible. The allergic reaction lasts 5 to 12 days with most people, but can last up to 30 days in severe cases.

There are plenty of products on the market that aid in the removal of the oil, as seen here, however, the biggest issue is that it is almost impossible to detect if you have come in contact with urushiol containing plants. Ivy sense would provide easy ways to detect when contact has happened, and prevent future contact from happening.
